Cyclone Michaung, which made landfall on the Eastern Coast last week, wreaked havoc in Chennai and surrounding districts, causing significant disruptions to normal life. The adverse impact of heavy rainfall has particularly taken a toll on micro, small, and medium enterprises.

The Finance Ministry stated, "A delegation from the Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturing Association held discussions with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and officials from the Department of Financial Services India in New Delhi today, highlighting the industry's losses attributed to the recent cyclone."
