Tamil Nadu: DMK Functionary Murdered For Giving Complaint Against Daughter's Stalkers
The juvenile who was involved in the murder is still on the run.
Chennai: A 48-year-old DMK functionary who lodged a complaint against a group of men for stalking his daughter was hacked to death with a machete hours after filling the plaint in Thoothukudi. Following the incident, the traders' association staged a protest and shut shops on Friday.
According to a report on The New Indian Express, V Kannan of Bala Thandayuthangar was a DMK secretary and a tailor by profession.
The tiff between him and the group started on Thursday after three youngsters waylaid the auto in which his daughter was traveling to school.

After his daughter informed him about the incident, the DMK functionary lodged a complaint to Thalamuthunagar police. Yet the police failed to take action in the complaint.
However, learning about the complaint filed against them, the trio went to the tailor shop and hacked him to death on the same day.

The police have registered an FIR against M Ramesh Kannan of Bala Thandayuthanagar, Jeyendran of Thalamuthunagar and a juvenile.
The police arrested Ramesh and Jeyendran. However, the juvenile is on the run.
Meanwhile, three miscreants murdered a 52-year-old DMK functionary from Kancheepuram in full public view on Friday due to an alleged land dispute and previous enmity. The deceased person was identified as T Sekar from Konerikuppam village in Kanchipuram and he recently floated to DMK from the Puratchi Bharatham Party. Also, his wife Sailajha is the panchayat president of Konerikuppam.
