Tamil Nadu: Class 12 Student Dies By Suicide, Fifth Case In A Month

The autopsy of the boy was completed and the body was handed over to his parents, said Karaikudi DSP Vinoj.

Chennai: A Class 12 student died by suicide at his home in Sivaganga district on Wednesday. This is the fifth such instance in the state in a month. 

According to a tweet on ANI, Karaikudi DSP Vinoj said, "A class 12 student hanged himself at his home near Karaikudi in Sivagangai district."

"A case has been registered and we're investigating. His autopsy was completed. The body was handed over to his parents," he said.

However, the reason for the student's extreme decision is yet to be known.

On Tuesday, a 17-year-old Class 11 girl died by suicide at her home near Sivakasi. The parents of the girl, Kannan and Meena, are daily wage workers in a cracker factory. 

The girl took the extreme decision after she returned home from school. However, the reason for the death of the girl is unknown.

On Monday, a Class 12 girl was found dead at her home in Cuddalore. She was reportedly upset after her mother scolded her. 

On the same day, another Class 12 girl from a government-aided school in Tiruvallur district took the extreme step and died by suicide in her hostel room. Further investigations are on.
