Stalin To Discuss NEET Exemption, Mekadatu Dam Issue With PM Modi Today

TN CM Stalin will meet PM Modi at 4.30 pm on Wednesday.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin met President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar in New Delhi on Wednesday. On his two-day trip, Stalin is also scheduled to meet PM Modi at 4.30 pm on Wednesday.

Stalin met President Murmu and Dhankar to congratulate them on taking office. After meeting the President and VP, Stalin addressing the reporters said, “I came in person to thank him (PM, for his presence at Chess Olympiad) at 4.30 pm on Wednesday. There are several demands that will be given to him.”

“Many demands like National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) exemption, National Education Policy (NEP), electricity, Cauvery, Mekadatu dam will be discussed with PM,” Stalin said.

The CM will request PM to drop the Neutrino project in Theni district. He will also express his opposition to the National Education Policy and the construction of Mekedatu dam project across Cauvery river in Karnataka.

With Tamil Nadu having received the GST compensation amount of Rs 9,602 crore payable up to May 31, there are not many dues pending for the state government from the Centre.

However, sources in the government told IANS that Stalin will be requesting the Prime Minister for some central assistance for the storm drain projects that are underway in many parts of the state before the northwest monsoon hits in October.
