DVAC Raids Govt Offices Across Tamil Nadu, Seizes Rs 27L
DVAC sleuths had conducted search operations at sub-registrar offices in Mylapore, Anna Nagar, Villivakkam, Thiruvanmaiyur and Ambattur among several other places in the state on Thursday.
Chennai: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) has conducted search operations at 38 government offices across Tamil Nadu. During the raid, the DVAC sleuths seized cash worth Rs 26.99 lakhs from multiple offices.
Quoting a statement from DVAC, a report in IANS said that DVAC sleuths had conducted search operations at sub-registrar offices in Mylapore, Anna Nagar, Villivakkam, Thiruvanmaiyur and Ambattur among several other places in the state on Thursday. In addition, the regional transport office in Ambattur and in other districts were also searched. The search operations were conducted based on a tip-off.
The report said that unaccounted money and multiple documents that would bring corruption to light were seized from several offices.
Quoting sources, the report said that the DVAC sleuths were planning to continue the search operation in the upcoming days and documents that were seized by the sleuths from the government offices, have shown that unaccounted cash deposits were made.

Soon after MK Stalin-led DMK government had come to power, the DVAC had conducted search operations in the premises of former AIADMK ministers - MR Vijayabaskar, SP Velumani and KC Veeramani.
According to the report, sources in the agency had said that the recent search operation conducted on the government offices were based on the information received during their earlier raids conducted in the premises of former ministers and the agency is following up on the leads that were found during the recent raids to further investigate the corruption cases.
