'Anti-Constitutional': DMK Legal Wing Protests Against New Criminal Laws At TN Courts
During the protest, DMK MP and Advocate NR Elango voiced strong opposition to the implementation of three new criminal laws, describing them as "anti-democratic and anti-constitutional."
The legal wing of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) staged a protest against the implementation of three new criminal laws in the country at courts across the state on Friday. During the protest, DMK MP and Advocate NR Elango voiced strong opposition to the implementation of three new criminal laws, describing them as "anti-democratic and anti-constitutional."
On the protest by DMK party legal wing workers, DMK MP and Advocate NR Elango said, "...These (3 new criminal laws) are anti-democratic and anti-constitutional as they are named in Sanskrit which cannot be done as per Article 348 which is known to everybody."
"Not only that, they are against the interest of the persons accused of the offence and persons who are victims of the offence. So, this cannot be implemented. They have to be abolished and revisited. The Parliament have to undertake the exercise of revisiting these laws," he said.

On July 6, the DMK's legal wing will also stage a protest at Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore, Chennai.
