AIADMK Mulls Statewide Protest Against DMK Govt Over 'Deteriorating' Law And Order Situation In TN
AIADMK has also decided to underline the use of narcotics and substances among the public especially school students in many parts of Tamil Nadu.
AIADMK is considering to organise a massive statewide agitation against the DMK-led government over the alleged failing law and order situation in Tamil Nadu. AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami even charged the state government through a press statement on Friday for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
Talking to IANS, a senior party member said that EPS met senior leaders over organising a mass protest across the state highlighting law and order situation after DMK took charge of the government.
Through the protest, AIADMK reportedly intends to draw attention to the numerous gang battles that are occurring around the state as well as the caste-based conflicts and killings in Southern Tamil Nadu.
According to sources, the government machinery's PR campaign to enhance the Chief Minister's reputation while peace and order was allegedly at its lowest point will also be highlighted by the party.
AIADMK has also decided to appraise of the use of narcotics and substances among the public especially school students in many parts of Tamil Nadu. Several kingpins who are involved in the act also escape from the clutches of the police, said the report.
A senior AIADMK leader on the condition of anonymity told IANS: “The state is turning into a drug capital and several networks are involved in smuggling the drugs and Tamil Nadu is turning into a transit point. The proceeds of the crime are used for terror funding in certain areas and many youths are falling into this trap."
"The police which has to take an iron hand to curb this crime is looking the otherway and we are planning a major agitation across the state against this menace,” he said.
Earlier, AIADMK staged a protest across the state against DMK and the law and order situation in May.
