New Delhi: West Bengal's ruling party Trinamool Congress on Tuesday urged Governor Ananda Bose to fix accountability in the North Dinajpur incident following the deaths of four children who lost their lives in a village. The TMC urged the Governor to visit the site and "fix accountability" for the "monumental tragedy." TMC accused the Border Security Force (BSF) of negligence, attributing the deaths of the innocent children to the alleged unauthorised activities, claiming force was engaged in "illegal" drain expansion work in Chopra.
AITC posted on X, "Yesterday, 4 innocent children lost their lives in Uttar Dinajpur's Chopra during an illegal drain expansion by @BSF_India. Our MPs Pratima Mondal and Dola Sen wrote a letter to the Governor, who has agreed to meet our delegation on February 15th. We request that he show the same urgency in visiting Chopra and fixing accountability that he did by cutting short his trip from Kerala to visit Sandeshkhali".
