UP: Priyanka Shakes Hands With BJP Workers Amid Slogans For Modi & Yogi, Hands Cong Manifesto (WATCH)

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also took a dig at Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday over his recent remarks.

New Delhi: Amid her roadshow in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday stopped for a bit and shook hands with BJP workers who were raising slogans in favor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The incident took place during a roadshow in Aligarh, where she gave the Congress party's youth manifesto 'Bharti Vidhan' to BJP workers.

Meanwhile, when asked about the election appearing to be a bipolar contest (between BJP and SP) in UP, Priyanka Gandhi responded saying: "I want to say to people that if you want a change, jobs, development in the state then vote for us. Rest of the political parties are doing the same type of politics".

Priyanka Gandhi's Jibe At Yogi Adityanath

The Congress general secretary also took a dig at Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday over his recent "khoon ki garmi" remarks.

Yogi Adityanath, during an election campaign in western Uttar Pradesh, had said that the "khoon ki garmi" (haughtiness) of Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal leaders will end after the election results come in.

While talking to a man in Aligarh, Priyanka Gandhi quipped that "people say someone has been talking of garmi nikalne ki charbi nikalne ki (eliminating haughtiness)".

"But we (in Congress) are talking of 'bharti' (employment). A number of youths who are standing here are jobless. Around 12 lakh posts are lying vacant in the government," she added, as quoted by news agency PTI.

In a tweet in Hindi, she wrote: "This time vote for those who start 'bharti' (recruitments/employment) and reject 'charbi nikaalne wale' and 'garmi nikaalne wale' (people professing to end haughtiness, arrogance)".

Priyanka Gandhi was in Aligarh to campaign for the Congress candidates in the Iglas and Khair assembly segments of the district. She also took part in door-to-door contact programmes there.
