'Perpetrators Will Not Be Spared': Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Condemns Shillong Blast Incident
Police suspected it to be an improvised explosive device (IED) blast, PTI reported. After the blast occurred, bomb squad personnel reached the spot to get things under control.
New Delhi: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Sunday took to Twitter to condemn the unfortunate blast incident on Sunday evening at Police Bazar in Shillong. Calling the blast incident a "coward attack", CM Sangma said that the perpetrators won't be spared.
A low-intensity blast in Shillong's Khydailad, the commercial hub of the state, triggered panic. As per PTI, zero casualties were reported.
Taking to Twitter, CM Conrad Sangma said, "Strongly condemn the blast at Police Bazar, Shillong this evening. An attempt to disrupt peace and bring harm is nothing but a cowardly act."
He also said the state government will ensure peace in Meghalaya. "Perpetrators will not be spared. We will ensure peace prevails in the State," the Chief Minister further tweeted.

State Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui told PTI that a person suspected to be behind the blast has been identified.
"Suspect have (sic) been identified and investigation is on and I am sure that the Police will be able to nab all the people involved. Strongly condemn this act & assured that peace will be maintained at all cost," he said in a statement as per PTI.
