Mumbai: Man Makes Threat Call To Maharashtra Mantralaya, Warns Of 'Terror Attack'

The 61-year-old man, who has been arrested, said a 'terror attack' would take place in a day or two.

A 61-year-old man was arrested in Mumbai for making a threat call to the Maharashtra Mantralaya on Monday night, warning of a "terror attack". The man said a "terror attack" would take place in a day or two, police told ANI.

The caller was identified as a 61-year-old man named Prakash Kishanchand Khemani. He will be produced before the court on Tuesday.

"Kandivali Police arrested a 61-year-old man, Prakash Kishanchand Khem, for making a threat call to Maharashtra Mantralaya last night, stating that there will be a terror attack in a day or two," Mumbai Police told ANI.

The Mantralaya Control officer said they received the call at 10 pm from an unidentified caller and alerted the police. Police started to trace the caller and arrested the man on Monday night.

In another such instance, Mumbai Police received a call earlier on Sunday from a person threatening that "serial bomb blasts" would take place in local trains. The police acted quickly on the matter and apprehended a 25-year-old man from the Juhu area. A police official, while talking to PTI. said that the man was suspected to have made the call while being drunk.

During the call, the caller said that he was calling from the Vile Parle area.

An investigation was launched into the matter and it was found that the man came to Mumbai from Bihar. As per PTI, he came to Mumbai 10 days ago.

On July 23, Mumbai Police received another such call during which the caller claimed that a tanker loaded with RDX and two Pakistani nationals were on its way to Goa from Mumbai. Following this, authorities launched an investigation to check the credibility of the threat.
