WATCH: Police Flex Spider-Man Skills To Catch Farmers Staging Protest At Maharashtra

Mumbai Farmers' Protest: Police personnel were seen chasing protesting farmers who jumped on a protective net on the first floor of the ministry building in Mumbai demanding proper compensation for their land.

Farmers from Maharashtra's Wardha region on Monday staged a protest in Mumbai demanding proper compensation for their land with some protestors jumping on a protective net placed on the first floor of the ministry building. In a video, police personnel were seen chasing the protesting farmers who jumped on the protective net, the officials could be seen dragging the protestors away to vacate the space. As per news agency ANI, some of the protestors have been detained and sent to Marine Drive police station.

In this visual, the police can be seen dragging the protestors on the first floor.

State Minister Dadaji Bhuse spoke to the protesting farmers inside the Mantralaya building, as per ANI.

Speaking on the protest, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said, "I had called the farmers here today. They have had a meeting with (State Minister) Dada Bhuse. A review of their issues will be done in 15 days and a resolution will be found."

Meanwhile, NCP leader Rohit Pawar said that if the Eknath Shinde-led government had heard the voices of the farmers they would not have resorted to jumping on the protective net in the Mantralaya.

Saying that he did not support the manner in which the farmer protested against the Maharashtra government, the NCP leader added: "The government should hear the problems being faced by the farmers despite the fact that doing such a protest in Mantralaya is not right. The drought situation in Maharashtra is dangerous. People don't have drinking water, the same goes with water and fodder for animals as that situation is also acute."

More details about the protest are awaited.
