'Will Tear Your Arrogance Into Pieces': Uddhav Thackeray Protests Bulldozing Of Sena UBT 'Shakha'

Uddhav Thackeray condemned the demolition of a 'shakha' (local level office) controlled by his party in Mumbra. Alleging encroachment on his party's land, he launched a scathing attack on the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra govt.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray launched a scathing attack on the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government, condemning the demolition of a 'shakha' (local level office) controlled by his party in Mumbra. Thackeray, accompanied by top party leaders, visited the site but faced resistance from Chief Minister Shinde's Shiv Sena workers, resulting in a tense standoff, news agency PTI reported. In a fiery address to party workers, Thackeray accused those in power of using force to dismantle the shakha.

He expressed his determination to retaliate at the polls, stating, "Our posters were torn. We will tear your arrogance into pieces in the polls", as quoted by PTI. Thackeray asserted that the Sena (UBT) would rebuild the shakha and gather there daily.

Mumbra is a Muslim-dominated area in Thane district, said to be a stronghold of CM Shinde.

Alleging encroachment on his party's land, Thackeray criticised the administration, saying, "Our land (shakha) has been encroached upon. We have all the documents." He cautioned the authorities and police, stating, "You are not slaves of the thieves. You have protected the thieves, but the thieves have disturbed the honeycomb. Now the honeybees will sting you", PTI reported.

Thackeray refrained from breaking police barricades to avoid disrupting Diwali celebrations but warned against interpreting their silence as a permanent stance. He accused the state government of deploying hired goons with police protection, calling it "absolutely disgraceful."

Accompanied by MPs Vinayak Raut, Sanjay Raut, Anil Desai, Rajan Vichare, and NCP leader Jitendra Awhad, Thackeray criticised the government's use of force against various protests in the past.

Earlier in the day, former Thane mayor Naresh Mhaske, a member of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, claimed the shakha was seized and demolished as it was being used for illegal activities. When asked about the allegation, Thackeray refused to comment, as reported by PTI.
