Tejasvi Surya Mocks Karnataka Govt Amid Arrests Over Stampede: 'CM, DKS Can Go Back For Next IPL Practice'
Tejasvi Surya mocked Karnataka CM & Deputy CM's "cricketing skills" amid arrests of RCB and event management officials over Bengaluru stampede.

In a scathing and sarcastic post on social media platform X, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya took aim at Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar amid mounting criticism over the deadly stampede that occurred outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) IPL victory celebration.
Mocking the Congress leadership for what he described as politicisation of the event, Surya said, “We, RCB fans, are indebted to CM Siddaramaiah and DCM DK Shivakumar for winning us the IPL after 18 years. They displayed incredible cricketing and leadership skills on the field and brought our club this long elusive glory.”
He further ridiculed the state leadership by adding, “Anyways, CM and DKS can now go back to Chinnaswamy Stadium to start practising for their next IPL season.”

Surya’s remarks came in the wake of arrests made in connection with the stampede that claimed 11 lives and left 56 injured.
Further, the BJP leader mocked, "We are also very upset about Virat Kohli, other players and the RCB Management for poor arrangement of the security measures at the program organised to honour CM & DK and their families for winning us the trophy."
Bengaluru Stampede: Cops Arrest RCB Officials, Event Managers
The event, jointly organised by RCB and DNA Entertainment Private Limited, has come under intense scrutiny after the incident. Bengaluru Police, in a joint operation with the Crime Branch, arrested four individuals including Nikhil Sosale (RCB Head of Marketing and Revenue), Sunil Mathew, and Kiran Kumar from DNA Entertainment. Sources said some were detained while attempting to leave the city via the airport.
Speaking to PTI, newly appointed Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh confirmed that arrests have been made and that the case would soon be handed over to the CID. “Our teams are taking the case very seriously. Before the CID takes over, preliminary legal procedures are being completed,” he said.
Meanwhile, opposition parties have intensified their demand for accountability, even as the Karnataka government continues to face public backlash over the handling of the event and the lack of crowd control.
