Ricky Rai, son of the late underworld don N Muthappa Rai, sustained injuries in a targeted shooting incident late Friday night near his residence in Bidadi, on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

According to police reports, the attack took place between 1:00 and 1:30 AM while Ricky was en route to Bengaluru in his car. Unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire at the vehicle. One of the bullets struck the driver’s seat, injuring both Ricky Rai and his driver, as per a report on PTI. Rai was seated in the rear of the car, accompanied by his personal gunman.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara told ANI, "The concerned police officer has been directed to provide further details. At present, Ricky Rai has not suffered any serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru. The reason behind the gun attack is yet to be ascertained. The police are investigating."

Both injured individuals were immediately taken to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru for treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that Rai is undergoing medical care, and his condition is being closely monitored.

Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the attackers. Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area and questioning witnesses to trace the suspects’ movements.
