Karnataka: Newlywed Man Fatally Stabs Wife Just Hours After Wedding, Probe On

After the ceremony, the couple went to the groom's house where they spent a few happy hours with family before retiring to their bedroom in the afternoon.

A couple from Sembarakanahalli village, Thangavyal, Kolar, who had been in love for many years, were found dead just hours after their marriage. Naveen Kumar and Likitashree, who married on Wednesday with the blessings of both families at a hall in Andersonpet area, were discovered with fatal stab wounds in their bedroom.

The newlyweds spent the morning joyously celebrating their union with relatives. After the ceremony, they returned to the groom's house, where they spent a few happy hours with family before retiring to their bedroom in the afternoon. According to reports, the couple had a disagreement that escalated into a violent altercation. The man reportedly stabbed the bride with a knife found in the house.

With the bedroom door locked from the inside, the family was unable to intervene immediately. Upon breaking down the door, they found both Naveen and Likitashree unconscious having sustained serious stab wounds. The couple was rushed to the hospital but Likitashree succumbed to her injuries on the way. Naveen was admitted to the hospital for intensive treatment but passed away on Thursday morning.

Later, the police said that Naveen attacked Likhita which led to her death following which Naveen attempted to kill himself.

The police have taken the bodies for post-mortem examination and have registered a case to investigate the circumstances leading to the deaths.

Likhita was reportedly 19-year-old while Naveen was 27-year-old. The couple were also engaged four months before their marriage.

The couple reportedly got married after many years of being in a relationship with each other. The couple married without any opposition and it is said that they did not have any rift. However, the disagreement between the couple has now claimed their lives. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem.
