Delhi Weekend Curfew: 55-Hour Weekend Curfew In Delhi, Find Out What Will Be Banned
Weekend curfew has also been imposed in Delhi this week to break the corona chain, where all non-essential activities have been banned except for essential goods and services
Weekend Curfew: The weekend curfew, imposed to prevent the spread of rising corona infection in Delhi, has come into effect from the night of Friday 14 January. The weekend curfew will start from 10 pm on Friday and will continue till 5 am on Monday. During this, all non-essential activities will be banned in the national capital.
Markets will remain closed during the weekend curfew but shops will remain open.
According to the order of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), shops for all essential commodities and services such as groceries, vegetables, fruits, medicines, and milk will remain open in Delhi, while markets will remain closed during this weekend's curfew. E-passes issued last week for essential services will be valid during curfew.
Metro services to continue during weekend curfew.
Metro services will be available this week during weekend curfew (January 15 and 16). Permission to run the metro was issued by DDMA in its previous guidelines. Although metro services and public transport buses will ply at full capacity during the curfew, no passenger will be allowed to stand and travel.
An official statement issued through Delhi Metro said that metro trains will be available at an interval of 15 minutes on the yellow line (Huda City Centre to Samaypur Badli) and Blue Line (Dwarka Sector-21 to Noida Electronic City/Vaishali). Trains will be available at an interval of 20 minutes during weekend curfew on other Metro lines in Delhi.
This is to reiterate that the Metro services will continue to be regulated this weekend (15th and 16th January 2022) too, in compliance with the DDMA guidelines issued last week regarding weekend curfew. For more details, visit https://t.co/H8E0hY27BD

24383 new covid cases reported in Delhi on Friday, 34 died.
Delhi reported 24,383 new covid cases on Friday while 34 patients died. The infection rate rose to 30.64 per cent. The number of new cases is lower than Thursday, but the infection rate has increased. The infection declined by 15.5 percent on Friday compared to Thursday.
After these new cases, the number of corona patients in Delhi has now increased to 92,273, of which 64,831 are in home isolation. The number of containment zones across Delhi is 27,531.
It may be recalled that last Thursday, 28,867 corona cases were reported from all over Delhi, the highest number of infections recorded in a day since the beginning of the corona pandemic, for which 98,832 people were tested for corona.
