ABP CVoter Snap Poll: I.N.D.I.A's MP Test, Infighting In BJP & Congress — Voters Tell Who Could Lose Big

ABP News Cvoter Survey: Parties fighting with each other and members fighting within the party -- challenges that BJP and Congress have to deal with in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

ABP News Survey: With the announcement of polls, the Election Commission of India (ECI) unknowingly jitters the political parties which, despite preparation, keep experimenting till they have their winning formula. Five states are going to poll next month and while Telangana and  Mizoram have another front as leading contender -- BJP and Congress have three key states to look for -- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. Congress rules the last two and BJP is governing MP. But, what do voters think would happen in the assembly elections?

ABP News and Cvoter reached out to understand the opinions of voters on the ongoing SP vs Congress feud in Madhya Pradesh. The two parties,  who are partners in I.N.D.I.A bloc, have not been able to adjust with each other as far as Madhya Pradesh elections are concerned. Congress seems to be willing to go all alone while SP is furious over the alleged change of track by the grand old party on the issue of seat-sharing.

When asked 'Do you think that the war of words between Congress and Samajwadi Party in Madhya Pradesh will harm the opposition alliance 'I.N.D.I.A.'?' 35.1 per cent of the respondents in Chhattisgarh replied 'Yes', while 37.4 per cent said 'No'.

In Madhya Pradesh, 40.4 per cent of voters surveyed said the SP vs Congress fight would definitely harm the I.N.D.I.A bloc while 46.5 per cent opined it will have no impact at all. Moreover, 38.7 per cent of the respondents in Rajasthan said the fight would have an impact on the mega alliance whereas 34.4 per cent denied the same.

Parties Battling Infighting

While parties' feud with each other is one challenge, members of parties fighting with each other over ticket distribution has become a bigger pain for both BJP and Congress. Factionalism is quite visible in Rajasthan within both the parties while in Chhattisgarh as well, the BJP has not been able to declare its CM candidate. Reports say the reason is the presence of multiple strong candidates for the same. So, who will be the bigger loser here?

On the question 'According to you, which party will suffer the most in your state from the discontent brewing among leaders after ticket distribution?', the majority of voters surveyed (42.5 per cent) in Chhattisgarh opined that BJP would lose big in the state and 38.1 per cent said that Congress would lose. In Madhya Pradesh, 52.1 per cent are of the view that Congress would be at the losing end whereas 33.6 per cent believe BJP will suffer the most.

In Rajasthan, 47.6 per cent said that Congress would suffer from the infighting more while only 37.4 per cent said the same for the BJP.

According to the poll schedule, Chhattisgarh will vote in two phases -- Nov 7 and Nov 17. Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan will go through single phase of voting on Nov 17 and Nov 25 respectively. The results will be announced on December 3.

[Disclaimer: This survey was based on CVoter personal interviews conducted among 2,812 adults across India. Sometimes the table figures do not sum to 100 due to the effects of rounding off. The margin of error is +/- 3% at the macro level and +/- 5% at the micro level. We believe this will give the closest possible resemblance to the trends.]
