With people battling the crises, the danger is yet not over as prediction for more rain has been made in several states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Himachal. The Met Department has upgraded the 'orange' alert to 'red' in Mumbai with effect from Wednesday night till Thursday afternoon, news agency PTI reported citing officials.

In Telangana, sixty families in the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district have been shifted to relief camps, while low-lying areas were inundated at several places as rains continued to lash the state on Wednesday, as reported by PTI. Low-lying areas were inundated at Warangal.

As far as Karnataka is concerned, torrential rains and floods hampered normal life and continued to batter many parts of Karnataka. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said 38 people have lost their lives due to heavy downpours.
