Wriddhiman Saha To Play For Tripura After CAB Grants NOC To The Wicketkeeper

Wriddhiman Saha, who is out of the Indian team in the presence of young wicket-keeper batters, will play the role of a player as well as a mentor for the Tripura team.

New Delhi: Wriddhiman Saha, the senior wicket-keeper batter of the Indian team, parted ways with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on Saturday. The CAB has given him a No Objection Letter (NOC). On the other hand, Saha has obtained a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the CAB to join the Tripura team. After separating from the CAB, Saha will now play for the Tripura Cricket Association in domestic cricket.

Saha, who is out of the Indian team in the presence of young wicket-keeper batters, will play the role of a player as well as a mentor for the Tripura team.  CAB said in its statement, "Wriddhiman Saha came to CAB and gave an application to President Abhishek Dalmiya, in which he demanded NOC from the association. On Saha's request, CAB gave him NOC to play for another state. CAB wished him all the best for his future."

Wriddhiman Saha and the CAB had a long-standing rift. CAB joint secretary Debbrata Das had alleged that the veteran wicketkeeper used to make excuses for not playing domestic matches for the state.

Disappointed with this, Saha reportedly asked Das to apologize unconditionally, which he did not do. Now when the CAB officer was sent to England as the administrative manager of the Indian team, he got a reply and took this decision.

Talking to reporters after getting the NOC, Saha said that he was asked to reconsider his decision. He said, "I was asked before, requested again and again even today, but I had already made the decision. That's why I took NOC today."

Saha said that he would never have any complaint from Bengal and would be ready to serve again if needed in future.  He said, "I did not have any ego related issues with the Bengal Cricket Association. I just had a disagreement with someone, so I had to make this decision."
