Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old state-level tennis player from Gurugram, Haryana, was shot dead by her father on July 10.
This shocking incident occurred at their residence in Sector-57, Gurugram, around 10:30 in the morning, when her father, Deepak Yadav, fired three bullets at her.

Who Was Radhika Yadav?
The police have arrested the accused father, and the revolver used in the crime has been seized. While the exact motive is still under investigation, preliminary findings suggest a long-standing dispute between Radhika and her father regarding her tennis academy.
According to reports, Deepak Yadav was reportedly unhappy with his daughter’s decision to run a tennis academy, and this had led to frequent arguments and tension within the household.
A Glance at Radhika Yadav's Tennis Career
Radhika had started playing tennis at a very young age and quickly rose to become one of the top doubles players in Haryana.
As of November 4, 2024, she had reached the 113th position in the ITF rankings for international women’s doubles and had 10 international ranking points to her name. She was ranked number 5 in women’s doubles in Haryana and also made her mark in the AITA Under-18 category, where she achieved a singles ranking of #75 back in 2018.
A Talent Poised to Make India Proud
Alongside her junior achievements, Radhika also excelled in the AITA senior categories. Her highest ranking in AITA women’s singles was 35, while in women’s doubles, she reached a career-high ranking of 53.
Notably, she maintained a place in the AITA Women’s Doubles Top 100 for 112 consecutive weeks—highlighting the consistency and dedication in her performance. She was among the rare players from Haryana to break into the national Top 100, and her steady progress had shown that she was capable of bringing international glory to the country.
