'Virat Kohli Is The Best Batsman Of This Era': Mohammad Amir
Virat Kohli is known for his enthusiasm and aggression on the field. The star batter has not scored a century since 2019 but still his batting average is more than 50.
New Delhi: Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir said that Virat Kohli is the best batsman of this generation. Currently, Amir is playing in the T10 League in Abu Dhabi.
However, while terming Virat as the best batsman of this era, he said he did not have many issues bowling against him but he found it very challenging whenever he bowled against Australia linchpin batsman Steven Smith. Virat Kohli is known for his enthusiasm and aggression on the field. He has not scored a century since 2019 but still his batting average is more than 50.
“I feel, in my opinion, that Virat Kohli is the best batsman of this era, although I don’t find it tough bowling against him I feel he’s the best batsman of this era. Steven Smith is the player I feel is a difficult batsman to bowl to personally for me,” Amir told Zee News.
“When I played in 2009 Shane Watson was a very difficult batsman to bowl to in white-ball cricket, but now I feel Steven Smith because I don’t understand how Steve Smith bats, I bowl him outside off he’ll flick it to the leg-side, if I bowl him on the legs, he’ll make room and drive that bowl to covers. I struggle understanding how Smith bats, really,” he added.
Amir and Kohli have been involved in a contest on several occasions. One of his best performances against team India was in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy. Amir has then rattled the Indian batting lineup as he had then picked wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.
