‘Time To Show Solidarity & Pray Together:’ Pakistan Captain Babar Azam As India Reels With Second Covid Wave

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has send prayers for India as the country fights second wave of COVID-19.He also urged people to strictly follow SOPs and motivated all to stay strong in tough times.

Delhi: As India reels with the second wave of deadly Coronavirus, several sports stars have come forward supporting India in fight against COVID-19. After Australian cricketer Pat Cummins donated $50000 to 'PM Cares Fund' today, Pakistan captain Babar Azam stood in solidarity and sent prayers for India as the country grapple through the COVID-19.

Taking to his official Twitter account, the cricketer said, "Prayers with the people of India in these catastrophic times. It's time to show solidarity and pray together." He also urged people to strictly follow SOPs and motivated all to stay strong in tough times.

Earlier today, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Pat Cummins donated $50000 to 'PM Cares Fund' on Monday for the purchase of oxygen supplies in India's hospitals.

The fast bowler issued a statement urging everyone participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 to contribute and help India fight the battle against the COVID-19 surge. He encouraged his fellow IPL players to contribute. He said that by making this public appeal, we can all channel our emotions into action that will bring light into people's lives.

India on Monday reported 3,52,991 new Covid-19 cases and 2,812 deaths. As per Union Health Ministry, active caseload in the country constituted 16.25% of the total positive cases so far and stood at 2,813,658. So far, 17,313,163 cases and 195,123 deaths have been reported in India.
