New Delhi: The Indian men's badminton team created history in the Thomas Cup 2022 final to win their maiden title by defeating defending champions Indonesia. India trounced 14-time winners Indonesia 3-0 in a one-sided dominating fashion, winning the first three matches. Lakshya Sen won the men's singles clash to get India off to an awesome 1-0 start after which men's doubles team Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty and Kidambi Srikanth won their respective matches in the men's singles category. India conquered the Thomas cup title for the first time ever.
Meanwhile, a pumped-up Chirag Shetty pulled off a shirtless celebration after he and his partner Kidambi Srikanth, in the second match of the tie, after defeat in their opening match, made a great comeback in the second game. The duo survived four match points to snatch a win in the second game. They won the decider to end the match with an 18-21, 23-21, 21-19 win.
