'Before Leaving For World Cup, I Asked Babar...': Ramiz Raja Reveals How He Planned Rohit's Dismissal
PCB chief Ramiz Raja claimed that he had suggested Pakistan skipper Babar Azam where to place his fielders to get rid of Rohit Sharma early while using Shaheen Afridi as the bowler.
T20 World Cup 2022: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) president Ramiz Raja revealed how he had planned Indian skipper's Rohit Sharma's dismissal with Babar Azam before the Pakistani captain left for T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE. Speaking on a BBC podcast, Ramiz claimed that he had suggested Babar where to place his fielders to get rid of Rohit early while using Shaheen Afridi as the bowler.
“Babar Azam was here with the Chief Selector before leaving for the World Cup, and I asked him what are your plans against India,” Ramiz said.

“I can tell you how to get rid of Rohit Sharma right now and Babar was intrigued. I said get Shaheen Afridi bowling at 100mph, get a man at short-leg. Just bowl that inswinging yorker at 100mph and do not give him a single and keep him on strike. You will get him out." he added.
India had faced Pakistan in their T20 World Cup 2021 match at the Dubai International Stadium. Back then, Pakistan attained a historic maiden World Cup win over India. Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi played the biggest role in Pakistan's win, as the wrecker-in-chief rattled India's top with his magical spell. Shaheen had put Pakistan right on top in the very first over of the match by dismissing Rohit Sharma for a golden duck with a brilliant yorker.
In the third over, Shaheen bowled a brilliant delivery to stun KL Rahul, uprooting the Indian opener's stumps. He also dismissed Kohli during the match.
Only a few days are left for the high-voltage match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022. Fans of both the teams are eagerly waiting for their favorite clash once again in the World Cup, after a year.
