Major Health Update On Shan Masood After Latest Scans Ahead Of Ind-Pak T20 WC Fixture
Shaan Masood played his first-ever international match for Pakistan only last month in seven-match T20I series against England and has now become a regular member of Men in Green.
India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup: With just few days left for blockbuster India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 match at the iconic MCG on Sunday, Pak' star cricketer Shan Masood was hit on the right side of his head during a practice session on Friday. The 33-year-old was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment and scans. The injury scare means that Pakistan might be forced to bring another player as Masood's replacement for India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2022 match if he fails to get the required medical clearance for the high-octane thriller on Sunday. Fakhar Zaman in the frontrunner to replace Masood, who was most likely to bat at number three position after openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
Meanwhile, as per the latest update overnight from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Masood's neurological observations are normal and he luckily got away with a 'superficial bruising'. He will undergo a concussion re-test tomorrow.
“All of Shan Masood’s neurological observations are normal. His CT scan only shows superficial bruising where the ball struck him,” the Pakistan Cricket Board was quoted as saying by news agency AFP in a statement.
“He will be re-tested (Saturday)” for concussion, the PCB added.
Pakistan cricket team was practicing in the nets when a stray shot from Mohammad Nawaz hit Masood on head, after which he was rushed to the hospital for scans.
