Indian fast bowler Sreesanth who has been away from the sport for 7 long years, has made a grand comeback to the competitive cricket. The pacer representing Kerala celebrated his return in style as he took away a wicket in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Kerala and Pondicherry on Monday. It took just seven balls for the 37-year-old bowler to castle Puducherry batsman Fabid Ahmed, in the ongoing SMAT match in Mumbai. Sreesanth in the fourth over poured his spell in style with his famous outswinger which the opening right-hander missed and ended up watching his stumps fly. Sreesanth finished with respectable figures of 1-29 in four overs and made a grateful gesture to the pitch after finishing his spell.
Earlier, the fast bowler was named in Kerala probables for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. Ahead of the matches, Sreesanth was seen participating in several warm-up games where he took his bowling to the next level. The bowler 7 years ago was found guilty for his alleged match-fixing allegations during the 2013 IPL. After a series of investigation, BCCI banned him from the gentleman’s game for life. However, his cricketing career took a sudden turn after his ban was reduced to 7 years.
