SL vs WI: Jeremy Solozono Taken To Hospital After Being Hit On Helmet, Video Surfaces
The ball hit the Windies debutant Jeremy Solozono on his helmet grille after which he fell on the ground and was immediately taken off the field on a stretcher to hospital for scans.
New Delhi: The first Test of the three-match Test series between Sri Lanka and West Indies is currently being played in Galle. West Indies' Jeremy Solozono, playing his first-ever Test match for the national squad, had a horror debut.
During the match, Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne hammered the ball straight towards 26-year-old fielder Jeremy who was fielding at short leg. The ball hit the Windies debutant on his helmet grille after which he fell on the ground and was immediately taken off the field on a stretcher to hospital for scans.
"Injury Update: Debutant Jeremy Solozano was stretchered off the field after receiving a blow to his helmet while fielding. He has been taken to the hospital for scans. We are hoping for a speedy recovery,” tweeted Cricket West Indies.

The incident occurred in the 24th over of Sri Lanka's innings. After Solozono was stretchered off the field, Shai Hope came out to field in his place.
Talking about the Galle Test, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. At the time when this article was written, Sri Lanka scored 163 runs in 57 overs for loss of one wicket. The captain of the host team, Karunaratne remains unbeaten after scoring 89 runs. Panthum Nisanka got dismissed after scoring 56 runs by Shannon Gabriel.
