Shane Warne Names His Top 10 Fast Bowlers, No Indian Included
Apart from not naming any Indian fast-bowler, another thing which surprised many is exclusion of former Australian player and star fast bowler Brett Lee's name from the list.
New Delhi: Ex-Australia star spinner Shane Warne has picked his top ten fast bowlers of all time. The legendary leg-spinner has named some great speedsters like Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, Dale Steyn in his elite list. However, Warne has not named any Indian fast bowler in his all time top 10 fast-bowlers' list.
English veteran fast-bowler James Anderson, who has so far bowled remarkably well in the ongoing India vs England Test series, has also been named by Warner in his list. Apart from not naming any Indian fast-bowler, another thing which surprised many is exclusion of former Australian player and star fast bowler Brett Lee's name from the list.
“No particular order my top 10 fast bowlers….. Lillee, Akram, Marshall, McGrath, Ambrose, Steyn, Hadlee, Thommo, Holding, Anderson,” tweeted Warne.
Shane Warne has kept Dennis Lillee, considered to be one of most dangerous bowlers of his era, in his list, while Pakistan's fast bowler Wasim Akram, also known as the king of swing, has also been included in Warne's list of top ten fast-bowlers. Malcolm Marshall, popular for troubling the batsmen with his lethal bouncers and pace, has also been included in the list by the former Australia player.
Australia's Glenn McGrath and West Indies' legendary bowler Courtney Ambrose have also been included in Warne's list of fast bowlers.
South African fast bowler Dale Steyn, who recently said goodbye to international cricket, has also been kept in his list by Warne. Former New Zealand bowler Richard Hadlee has also been named by Warne in his top ten all-time fast bowlers.
