One Year Of Yuvraj's Retirement: Sachin Tendulkar Recalls First Meeting With 'Yuvi', Shares Throwback Pic

"It's been a year since You(Vi) retired," said Tendulkar in a tweet, sharing an old pic of him and Yuvraj.

Yuvraj Singh, one of India's iconic one day international batsman bid adieu to professional cricket exactly a year ago. Fondly known as 'Yuvi' among the Indian cricketing circles, the flamboyant left hander was an outright match winner with the bat and produced some memorable match winning innings doning the Indian blue jersey in a glittering career which spanned for over a decade and a half. Yuvraj, who was India's man of the tournament in both the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup wins, was part of a star studded team that include the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni. Marking one year of Yuvraj's retirement, Sachin Tendulkar shared his first impressions of witnessing the booming talents of a young Yuvraj Singh. "It's been a year since You(Vi) retired," said Tendulkar in a tweet alongwith an image of him and Yuvraj. "My first memory of you was during the Chennai camp & I couldn't help but notice that you were very athletic & deceptively quick at point. I needn't talk about your 6 hitting ability, it was evident you could clear any ground in the world," said Tendulkar. Yuvraj who is considered one of India's greatest batsman in the ODI format had a rather unfulfilled career in Test cricket . While he racked up 8701 runs, scoring 14 centuries in 304 ODIs, his Test career was pretty mediocre with 1900 runs in 40 Tests. In 304 ODIs, he scored along the way. He was also a very effective spin bowler and took 111 wickets in his ODI career.
