RP Singh revealed in a recent interview that they used to poke fun at Dhoni about his inaccessibility and how difficult it is to get in touch with the former India captain.
Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was well known in the cricketing circles for going into a complete shell when he was away from the playing field and not representing India in international cricket. It was no hidden secret in the Indian dressing room that Dhoni did not pick up phone calls once he was away from national duties and preferred to remain in his own little space away from the limelight.
Former Indian speedsters RP Singh brought this rather mystifying trait of the iconic Indian cricketer to the public domain yet again during a conversation with a media portal stating that he still .
However, RP Singhwho played a lot of ODI cricket under 'Mahi' and shared a good rapport with him added that his former India skipper made a promise to him and Munaf Patel that he would pick their calls in half-a-ring once he bids adieu to international cricket.
RP Singh revealed in a recent interview that they used to poke fun at Dhoni about his inaccessibility and how difficult it is to get in touch with the former India captain.
“He has always been a down to earth and very composed person. We used to complain that he never takes our calls. Once he told Munaf (Patel) and I, that, when he retires, he would pick up the phone in just half-a-ring.
"Now we will check if really has retired. We always exploited his extra allowance which captains are entitled to! On a serious note, cricketers’ off-field interactions are not very different from ones on the field. We often end up talking about matches and players so it was fun with him,” RP Singh told cricket.com.
Dhoni retired from international cricket on August 15 this year, announcing his decision on Instagram at 19.29 hours IST. He brought an end to a decorated 15-year career during which he led Team India to victory in the 2007 World T20, 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy.
