Pro Kabaddi League 2019 Final: Bengal Warriors Beat Dabang Delhi 39-34 To Clinch Maiden Title
Delhi started off strong as they took an 8 point lead in the initial stage after forcing an all-out on Bengal Warriors. However, the latter bounced back in a sensational manner to win their maiden title
The Bengal Warriors thumped Dabang Delhi 39-34 to lift their maiden Pro Kabaddi League title on Saturday at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad. Under the leadership of stand-in captain Mohammad Nabibakhsh, the Warriors produced an all-round display to beat Delhi and clinch the nail-biter.
Delhi started off strong as they took an 8 point lead in the initial stage after forcing an all-out on Bengal Warriors. However, the latter bounced back in a sensational manner to win their maiden title.
The Warriors were playing without their regular skipper Maninder Singh who had 205 points this season. But Iranian Nabibakhsh did the job perfectly with crucial 9 raid points and one tackle point, completing an All Out to help the scores level 17-all.
Once the Warriors returned into the game, there was no looking back for them thereafter. They further inflicted two more All Outs in the second half, thanks to their strong attack as well as defence, which took the game far away from Delhi's grip.
The brilliance of young Delhi raider Naveen Kumar went in vain as his team produced an extremely poor defensive show. The 20-year-old raider produced 18 raid points on the night, registering his 21st successive Super 10 of the tournament, extending a stunning streak of consistency.
