'Exceptional Performance': PM Modi, Shah, Others Hail Shooter Swapnil Kusale On Clinching Bronze In Paris Olympics

Indian shooter Swapnil Kusale bagged a bronze medal in men's 50m rifle three positions final in Paris Olympics 2024 on August 1.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Shooter Swapnil Kusale for his exceptional performance in the Paris Olympics 2024, after he bagged a bronze medal, taking India's tally to 3. Swapnil Kusale had competed in the Men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions final on August 1. Later in the day, PM Modi also called him to congratulate him on his bronze medal win at Paris Olympics.

Congratulating him for the win, PM Modi wrote on X: "Exceptional performance by Swapnil Kusale! Congrats to him for winning the Bronze medal in the Men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions at the Paris Olympics 2024.His performance is special because he’s shown great resilience and skills. He is also the first Indian athlete to win a medal in this category. Every Indian is filled with happiness."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also hailed Kusale’s Olympics victory and said that India was proud of him for his bronze win.

"Proud of you, Swapnil Kusale, for winning the bronze medal in the 50 M Rifle 3 Positions Men's Final event at the Paris Olympics 2024. You have set an example of triumph that will inspire millions to take on the challenges in the field of sports. Keep winning and continue to make the nation proud," Shah tweeted.

Congratulating Kusale on his brone victory at Paris Games, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated: "Today, the country has got its third medal in the Olympics by Swapnil Kusale. I would like to congratulate him. A group of seven players from Paris Olympics have also arrived in India. Sarabjot Singh has also arrived in India. I met him and congratulated him," says Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya

BJP leader Tejasvi Surya also congratulated Kusale for winning bronze.

"India's shooters continue to make us proud. Extending my congratulations to Swapnil Kusale for securing a bronze in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions at the Paris 2024. Apart from being India's 3rd medal at the #ParisOlympics, this is also the first-ever Olympic medal for an Indian in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions," Tejasvi wrote on X.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also congratulated Swapnil, saying, "It is a matter of great pride for our Maharashtra, I congratulate Swapnil, he has brought glory to the state and the country. Swapnil is a ticket collector in the railways, and I am sure Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will soon make an announcement in his honour..."

Central Railway General Manager Ram Karan Yadav also expressed happiness that Swapnil Kusale, who has been a Central Railways employee since 2015, won a medal for the country in the Paris Olympics.

"This is a big thing for our Central Railway that one of the employees has won a bronze medal in 50m Rifle. We are proud of him...He will soon be promoted to official grade and will be appointed as an OSD," he said.

The other two medals in Olympics have also been won by shooters. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh won bronze medals in the Paris Games on July 30.
