Novak Djokovic Wears Iron Man-Like Chip On Chest, Calls It 'Biggest Secret Of His Career'

Novak Djokovic was seen taping a small, peculiar object to his chest during his second round win over Marton Fucsovics at the French Open 2023.

One of the greatest tennis players ever to have played the sport, Novak Djokovic, has disclosed that he uses an "incredibly effective nanotechnology" to elevate his game. He made this remark at the ongoing French Open 2023 in Paris. An Italian company which manufactures the chip, has also claimed the same. Notably, the 22-time Grand Slam champion was seen taping a small, peculiar object to his chest during his second round win over Marton Fucsovics in Paris at the Roland Garros. Ever since the video of the incident has surfaced and gone viral on social media, there has been a lot of intrigue over the device and how it benefits the Serbian tennis ace.

Djokovic's team also gave the former world number 1 a replacement device in the middle of the match with a ball girl helping them in their cause. "Something taped to Novak. Have you ever seen Robert Downey Jr. in the same room as Djokovic? Maybe Novak is Iron Man," commentator Jim Courier said on Air on Tennis Channel while describing the turn of events which saw Djokovic attach the object to his chest.

After the match, the 36-year-old was asked about the same object. While he initially joked saying: "When I was a kid I liked Iron Man a lot, so I try to impersonate Iron Man." He further said: "My team delivers an incredibly efficient nanotechnology to help me deliver my best on the court, so that’s the biggest secret of my career. If it wasn’t for that, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here."


After Djokovic's statement, Tao Technologies, an Italian company which is known for its innovative nanotechnological devices for human health, has claimed that it is the manufacturer of the device that Djokovic was spotted using at the French Open 2023. The company said that the device is activated by sunlight and body heat and provides a lot of health benefits. They shared an elaborate social media post on their official handle.

"One of the best tennis players of all time, Novak Djokovic, last night showed at Roland Garros, during the match against Marton Fucsovics, a "patch" declaring that it’s "an incredibly effective nanotechnology" and the "biggest secret of his career," the company said in a tweet. 

"Well, the nanotechnology in question is Taopatch®SPORT and we, Tao Technologies, are the Italian company that produces them. We specialise in patenting and creating innovative nanotechnological devices for human health and well-being," it added.


"Taopatch® is activated by sunlight and body heat. The body’s infrared activates Taopatch®’s layers of nanocrystals. Once turned on, the nanocrystals emit photons towards the body providing several health benefits."

Notably, Djokovic has a long history questionable beliefs. While he refused to get vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus even having to miss out on competitions, in 2017 the Serb remained opposed to getting a surgery despite an elbow injury and looked for a cure through holistic medicine. He once also teamed up with with former player turned coach and spiritual guide Pepe Imaz who would preach love and peace and his methods included the belief in the power of extremely long hugs.
