NBA 2023-24 Playoffs: Boston Celtics Oust Miami Heat 4-1, Qualify For Eastern Conference Semis

Boston Celtics steamrolled past their opponents in the Eastern Conference Round 1 of NBA 2023-24, and Miami Heat once again bow out at the hands of Boston Celtics. Here are the details.

NBA 2023-24 Playoffs: Boston Celtics continue their dominant run in the National Basketball Association (NBA) this season as Joe Mazzula's men thrashed Miami Heat 4-1 in the 1st Round of Eastern Conference. The Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum-inspired side were too good for Heat as Game 5 proved to be enough to eliminate them from the NBA this season. Boston Celtics won the Game 5 at home and the scorecard read 123-93, as Jaylen Brown and Derrick White combined for 50 points (25 each).

The main talking points throughout the tie was the fierce and intense rivalry between the teams, as they have given some iconic and nail-biting finishes in past few years and inspite of the domination of Celtics in League-phade this season, many expected the tie to be evenly-poised again. However, unfortunately for the Miami Heat, that was not the case, as Boston Celtics are looking to get hands on the record 18th NBA championship.

Celtics are one of the most iconic sides in the history of the NBA and arguably the biggest name ever, alongside Los Angeles Lakers, but are way past their old glory days, as Celtics have won only 1 championship in the past 38 years, which came in the 2007-08 season.

Boston Celtics Vs Miami Heat, Eastern Conference Round 1 Highlights

Boston Celtics came into the tie as heavy favourites, as they had finished at the top of the league table of the Eastern Conference and were set to face the 8th-placed Miami Heat in Round 1. The Game 1 produced moments of magic from Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo as he racked up 24 points but his individual brilliance was not enough, as Celtics won the Game 1 by the score of 114-94.

Game 2 proved to be the shock of the tie as Miami Heat proved their mantle by ousting Boston Celtics 111-101, but failed to follow up the impressive form in the next 3 games as Game 3, 4, and 5 ended in Boston Celtics's favour and the scorecards of the Games read the following:

  • 104-84
  • 102-88
  • 118-84
