Chris Bumstead Wins Sixth Classic Physique Title At Olympia 2024; Announces Retirement From Bodybuilding

Chris Bumstead claimed his sixth classic Physique Title At Olympia 2024 before confirming his retirement from professional bodybuilding.

Chris Bumstead claimed his sixth Classic Physqiue Olympia title before announcing his retirement from professional bodybuilding. The ace bodybuilder, often known as CBum, dominated the the prejudging and final stages in Las Vegas, Nevada to add yet another title in the course of his career. With that the man who was already the longest reigning champion in the division's history added more time to that.

Chris Bumstead first stepped on to the Olympia stage in 2017. That year he finished second to the then champion Breon Ansley. He came second the following year in 2018 as well before he started his dominant run since 2019. Ever since that win in 2019, Bumstead has become a poster boy of bodybuilding. And he has now announced his retirement. "The Last dance," Bumstead captioned his latest Instagram post.

However, CBum has assured his fans that he will remain associated with the sport and fitness industry going forward.

"This may be the last time you see me up here on this stage, but you will still see me around," he said.

Notably, Chris Bumstead has evolved into one of the most recognisable faces of the sport. The reason is his performance at the Classic Physique "O" where he has bagged more wins than any other athlete in the division's history.

Chris Bumstead is not the only champion who retired from the Olympia stage over the weekend. In addition to CBum, eight time figure Olympia winner Cydney Gillon also termed it a career after her win.
