'Just Have Three Words To Say...': Mumbai Indians Thank Lasith Malinga

IPL franchise Mumbai Indians have bid an emotional farewell to their champion bowler in a special way.

New Delhi: One of the best fast-bowlers to ever walk on the face of earth, Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga announced retirement from all forms of cricket on Tuesday. While making the official announcement about his retirement, the speedster said, "I am retiring from all forms of cricket. Grateful to everyone who supported me in my journey and would like to share my experience with young cricketers in the years to come." It is clear from Malinga's statement that he might probably soon be seen as a bowling coach.

Meanwhile, IPL franchise Mumbai Indians have bid an emotional farewell to their champion bowler in a special way. The franchise took to Twitter to share a photo of Malinga in which Kieron Pollard can be seen carrying him on his shoulders.

Sharing the pic, Mumbai Indians wrote in the caption of their post, "From crushing the toes of the batsmen to sitting on the shoulders, Mali achieved everything in T20 cricket. As he announces his retirement from T20 cricket, we just have three words to say - Thank you Malinga."

Malinga has been instrumental in helping franchise Mumbai Indians win IPL trophy for record-breaking five times. The speedster performed brilliantly for MI in the IPL and bagged 170 wickets. He holds the record for taking maximum wickets by a bowler in IPL history with best bowling figure of five wickets for 13 runs.  Malinga has also made some amazing records in international cricket, which includes taking 4 wickets off 4 balls, taking 3 hat-tricks in ODIs and taking 5 hat-tricks in international cricket.
