The two-time IPLwinning captain was involved in a heated on-field banter with Virat Kohli during Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) IPL 2023 fixture on May 1, which RCB won by 18 runs. Same thing happened after Lucknow Super Giants' shocking 81-run loss to Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2023 Eliminator match on Wednesday (May 24). For the second time in a row in IPL, Lucknow crashed out of the Playoffs by losing in the Eliminator match. After the match got over, Gambhir was seen having a serious discussion with Sachin Tendulkar, when suddenly out of nowhere some fans at MA Chidambaram stadium started teasing him with 'Kohli, Kohli' chants. However, Gambhir looked relaxed and unaffected, not paying any attention to them.

Mumbai Indians set up Qualifier 2 clash against Gujarat Titans
Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs to qualify for IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 and will face defending champions Gujarat Titans on Friday. Inviting Lucknow to bowl first after winning the toss, Mumbai Indians scored 182 runs after losing eight wickets, courtesy of a gritty knock from all-rounder Marcus Stoinis (40) and a remarkable spell from left-arm pacer Naveen-ul-Haq (four wickets). In reply, Lucknow were bowled out for merely 101 runs in 16.3 overs. Lucknow, who made their IPL debut last year, are yet to attain a maiden win in Playoffs stage. For the second time in a row, LSG were knocked out of IPL in Eliminator match.
