Rohit Sharma Refuses To Raise Bat In Celebration As MI Lose To CSK Despite His 100, Video Viral- WATCH

Rohit Sharma, the ex-MI captain, did not raise his bat in celebration as he realised that his 100 will not be enough to put his team over the line against CSK.

Widely regarded as one of the fiercest rivalries in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians (MI) took on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (April 14). Much like almost every other episode of the clash between the two most successful sides in the history of the competition, both the sides produced an epic encounter. However, in the end it was the the Men in Yellow who had the last laugh as they managed to beat MI by 20 runs.

CSK may have been the better team on the day, as the result reflects, but one MI man did not give up till the last ball. Former MI captain Rohit Sharma showed his class as he scored his second IPL hundred. His innings, however, went in vain has Mumbai eventually succumbed to a defeat. The Hitman got to the landmark off 61 deliveries and remained unbeaten on 105 off 63 balls. However, MI chasing down 207 to win, could only muster 186/6.

In the last over when Rohit got to his ton, he realised that even his knock will not be enough for his team to get over the line and he consequently did not raise his bat to celebrate the individual record. Only a handshake with his non-striking partner Mohammad Nabi was all that Rohit did after he breached the three-figure mark. The video of Rohit getting to the hundred has gone viral on social media.
