PBKS vs DC: Prithvi Shaw Celebrates Half-Century With Cryptic Signal Towards Dressing Room, Pic Goes Viral

IPL 2023: Prithvi Shaw scored 54 off 38 balls and was back to his best after underwhelming returns with the bat in his first six outings.

Delhi Capitals (DC) registered a consolatory 15-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium on Wednesday. After being invited to bat first, DC posted 213/2 at a venue with short boundaries. While Rilee Rossouw was undoubtedly the star of the innings as far as Delhi are concerned scoring an unbeaten 82 off 37 balls, Prithvi Shaw too was impressive ad scored his first half-century of the season.

The right-handed opener scored 54 off 38 balls and was back to his best after underwhelming returns with the bat in his first six outings. He had only accumulated 47 runs from 6 innings before DC's game against PBKS on Wednesday. As a result, he had to warm the benches for a month before he got his chance. However, this time around he grabbed his opportunity with both hands and helped DC get off to a good start. His innings was studded 7 fours and a six.

What also caught the attention of fans and netizens was the way in which Shaw celebrated after reaching his half-century. He made a  cryptic signal towards dressing room and the picture of the same has gone viral on social media.

Take a look:

At the mid-innings interval, Shaw said that he had to put in a lot of hard work to get the results. "It happened after a long time but you have to work hard for it. Happy that it came," the 23-year-old said while speaking to the broadcasters.

The batter was hit by a Kagiso Rabada delivery but was hopeful that he hadn't taken a serious blow and would be fine. "It hurts you know. When someone is bowling at that pace, it hurts. But I'll be fine. It is a very good score, to be honest. It is not easy to bat in the powerplay as the ball is seaming. Once the powerplay is done, it becomes easier to bat. Maybe we will use some slower deliveries while bowling," Shaw added.
