LSG Vs DC: Quinton De Kock's Lone Battle Completes Hattrick Of Wins For Lucknow | Match Review

IPL 2022: All the LSG batsmen did was to ensure that they stayed with de Kock till the end of the innings. Despite Nortje & Warner coming back to the DC side, there was no real impact.

IPL 2022: Out of the four venues that are designated for the Indian Premier League this year, the DY Patil Stadium of Navi Mumbai has proven to be the toughest to score runs. A similar scenario was seen on Thursday when Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) registered their third consecutive win of the season against Delhi Capitals (DC).

Quinton de Kock's 80 from 52 balls proved to be the difference-maker between the two sides. The rest of the LSG batsmen had a combined score of 69 runs, thus it can be imagined how difficult it must have been to score runs on the DY Patil wicket.

Story of the match:

The toss was won by LSG who put Delhi into bat first. It was an easy decision for KL Rahul to make as the conditions in Navi Mumbai get better for the batsmen as the night progresses.

Delhi Capitals went off to a flying start after Prithvi Shaw scored a quick-fire 61 inside the powerplay. He got out in the eighth over when the score was touching 70. Shaw scored 61 in 34 balls. Then walked in Rovan Powell to support David Warner in the middle. It was the Australian batsman's first match in this year's IPL and it showed. The veteran Aussie scored 4 runs in 12 balls.

Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan stayed at the crease till the end but did not really manage to up the ante as DC scored just 75 runs in the last 10 overs. Ravi Bishnoi was the star bowler for LSG.

LSG was now set a target of 150 runs!

All the LSG batsmen did now was to ensure that they stayed with de Kock till the end of the innings. Despite Nortje coming back to the DC side, there was no real impact. In fact, he was taken for some runs in his 2.2 overs.

Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for DC, but they could not dent the chances of LSG.

Eventually, Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni finished off the innings in the final over with four balls to spare. LSG beat DC by six wickets.

Brief Scorecard: Delhi Capitals | 149-3 in 20 overs (Prithvi Shaw 61, Rishabh Pant 39*; Ravi Bishnoi 2/22) vs. Lucknow Super Giants | 155-4 in 19.4 overs (Quinton de Kock 80, K.L Rahul 24; Kuldeep Yadav (2/31).
