KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad Punished With Heavy Fines After LSG vs CSK IPL 2024 Match

Following LSG vs CSK IPL 2024 Match 34, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took action by imposing fines on the captains of both sides for not adhering to the stipulated over-rate.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match 34 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) saw a twist off the field. Captains of both teams, Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK) and KL Rahul (LSG) faced heavy fines due to slow over rate.

Following LSG vs CSK IPL 2024 Match 34, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took action by imposing fines on the captains of both sides for not adhering to the stipulated over-rate.

"KL Rahul, Captain, Lucknow Super Giants has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match 34 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Chennai Super Kings at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Rahul was fined INR 12 Lakh," BCCI said in a release.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 17 runs off 13 balls, was also fined Rs 12 lakh fine for slow over rate offence.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) register emphatic win over Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024 match 34

KLRahul's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured a convincing eight-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in LSG vs CSK IPL 2024 match 34 on Friday (April 19) in Lucknow. The opening duo of Quinton de Kock (54) and KL Rahul (82) laid a strong foundation with a formidable 132-run partnership before Nicholas Pooran's unbeaten 23* ensured a smooth end to their chase. LSG chased down the target of 177 runs in 19 overs with 8 wickets remaining.

Despite the defeat against LSG, Chennai Super Kings remain at number three in IPL 2024 points table with 8 points and a NRR of +0.529. On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants, also with 8 points after 4 wins from 7 games, are placed at the 5th position in IPL 2024 points table with NRR of +0.123.
