IPL Records: Piyush Chawla Has A Chance To Break Malinga's BIG Record; Dwayne Bravo Just Three Wickets Away From Attaining Major Milestone

IPL Records: Chennai Super Kings star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is just three wickets away from taking 150 wickets. Bravo, so far, has taken 147 wickets in 136 IPL matches.

In the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings' leg-spinner Piyush Chawla has a big chance to attain a big milestone. The veteran spinner can become the highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL.

Star spinner Amit Mishra of Delhi Capitals has been out with injury. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians' legendary speedster Lasith Malinga is not playing  this season due to personal reasons. Malinga holds the record for most wickets in the history of IPL. He has taken 170 wickets in 122 matches. After him comes Amit Mishra in the list who had taken his wicket tally to 160 wickets in 150 matches this season. However, the veteran was ruled out of IPL 2020 after sustaining a finger injury.

Piyush Chawla has managed to bag 150 wickets in 157 matches before the start of IPL 2020. This season, he has taken six wickets in the last five matches. Currently, Chawla has 156 wickets in 162 matches. He needs 15 wickets to break Malinga's record. Chawla needs to play at least 9 matches to break the Sri Lankan paceman's record. Chennai Super Kings had spent Rs 6.75 crore on buying Chawla in the IPL-2020 auction last December and will be hoping that he proves his worth this year.
