IPL 2025: LSG In Talks With India Legend To Fill Gautam Gambhir Void As Mentor- Report

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are trying to fill the void left by Gautam Gambhir exiting as the team mentor. They are reportedly looking at an India legend to replace Gambhir ahead of IPL 2025.

Even though there is still some time to go for the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the tournament set to be played in March-May 2025, the franchises are already planning for the forthcoming season. There is expected to be a mega-auction before IPL 2025 which makes it crucial for all the participating teams to get their tactics right not only on the playing field but also behind the scenes.

Some of the behind the scenes work include, finalising a good and bankable support staff, a thorough talent scouting process and finalising a direction as to where the team looks itself in the coming four-five year window. In sycn with that goal, the IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are in reportedly in talks with a former India legend to be their mentor.

If a report carried by Cricbuzz is to be believed then LSG are trying to convince Zaheer Khan to come on board as their team mentor.

If the deal goes through, Zaheer, a veteran of 92 Test matches and 200 ODIs for India, will get to work with a coaching staff headed by Justin Langer which also includes Adam Voyages, Lance Klusener and Jonty Rhodes among others woth another coach likely to join in, as claimed in the same report by the aforementioned website.
