IPL 2024 Points Table, Most Runs & Most Wickets: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by seven wickets in the match number 22 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 8 (Monday). CSK delivered a comprehensive performance, bouncing back to winning form following consecutive losses away from home.

CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl first and CSK effectively limited KKR to a below-par total of 137-9. Jadeja and Tushar Deshpande both claimed three wickets each, with captain Shreyas Iyer being the top scorer for KKR with a 32-ball 34.

In the second innings of the CSK vs KKR match, CSK faced an early setback with the dismissal of Rachin Ravindra for 15 runs. Nonetheless, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad exhibited leadership with an unbeaten 67, anchoring one end steadily. He ultimately secured victory for CSK by hitting the winning runs, with 14 balls remaining.

Following this triumph, CSK’s tally rises to six points, positioning them fourth on the IPL 2024 points table with a net run rate of +0.666. kkr, on the other hand, also have six points and currently hold the second spot, boasting the best net run rate in the tournament at +1.528.
