IPL 2024: Reaction Of Other Franchises As MS Dhoni Steps Down As Skipper Of CSK

MS Dhoni has stepped down as skipper of CSK and THIS is how the franchises have paved respect to the legend. Read below.

Indian Premier League 2024: Chennai Super Kings, on Thursday, March 21, have announced that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has stepped dow as the skipper of franchise. Indian batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as the new captain of the joint-most successful franchise in the history of the league. The decision comes in a day prior to the side's opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

With his announcement, it is surely the 'End Of An Era', as two most successful captains in IPL's history, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni, will walk into the IPL 2024 as non-captains, which marks as the first ever occasion in the cash-rich league's history neither of the above-mentioned legends will be the skipper of their respective sides in a single season.

IPL 2024's opener between CSK and RCB will be much interesting now, as there will be much added pressure on Ruturaj Gaikwad, as he steps in the shoes of the most successful captain in Indian cricketing history, and with added pressure, comes added responsibilities. This means that now in the absence of Devon Conway, and with the addition of captaincy, Ruturaj Gaikwad is walking into a career-defining season.
