IPL 2024 Updated Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 58th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024 on May 9 (Thursday) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. In doing so, RCB registered their fifth win of the IPL 2024 season and find themselves on the seventh position in the IPL 2024 points table.

After being put in to bat first, RCB received an early blow as they lost their captain Faf du Plessis in the third over itself. However, Virat Kohli’s 47-ball 92 runs knock, along with a blazing fifty from Rajat Patidar and a 46 runs knock from Cameron Green, took them to the formidable total of 241-7 in 20 overs.

In reply, Punjab lost Prabhsimran Singh in the very first over to Swapnil Singh and from there on could not establish themselves well enough to chase the total despite a quick fifty from Rilee Rossouw and lost the match by a significant margin of 60 runs.
