The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final is all set to be played between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The two teams also met in Qualifier 1 where KKR had outplayed SRH to secure a place in the final. SRH, then, however, went on to meet Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2024 Qualifier 2 after the Men in Pink beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Eliminator to set up this summit clash.

It was the same two teams that had topped the league stage of the competition which means that it shouldn't come as a surprise that these are among the best teams in the competition with some of the best players in world cricket on display. Four of the 22 players (or 24 including the Impact Sub rule) that will compete in the IPL 2024 final also featured in the ODI World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Both KKR, SRH Captains Featured In IPL 2024 Final

Interestingly, captains of both the teams in IPL 2024 final, Pat Cummins of SRH and Shreyas Iyer of KKR played in the ODI World Cup 2024 final in Ahmedabad last year. Cummins was the skipper of the Australian team that handed a defeat to snatch home World Cup glory. Iyer, on the other hand, was part of the Indian middle order.

The other two players from that match who will compete in the KKR vs SRH IPL 2024 final are both Aussies- Travis Head (SRH) and Mitchell Starc (KKR). Interestingly, Head was the Player of the Match on that occasion as his century took Australia to a recoed-extending ODI World Cup title.
