IPL 2024 Schedule: IPL 2024 is likely to get undereway from March 22 and run until the end of May. While the date of the final is not yet decided, it is being reported that the final schedule will be announced only after the polling dates for India's general elections next year gets finalised by the Election Commission. Meanwhile, a day prior to the IPL 2024 Auction, the Indian Premier League notified the ten participating franchises about the availability of the players who had registered themselves at the auction for the next season. The biggest highlight from that notification is the availability of Australian speedster Josh Hazlewood. The right-arm speedster will be able to ply his trade only from the first week of May if he is bought at the auction. Hazlewood will be available from May as he wants to be there with his wife Cherina Murphy Christian to attend the birth of his first wife. While the 32-year-old was released by Royal Challengers Bangalre (RCB) ahead of the auction, he walks into auction with a base price of INR 2 crore.
England's Rehan Ahmed Withdraws From IPL 2024 Auction: Report
Meanwhile, the report carried by ESPNCricinfo has also learnt that England's Rehan Ahmed has withdrawn from the IPL 2024 Auction at a short notice. The leg-spinning all-rounder had registered himself at a base price of INR 50 lakh. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) does not want him to spent too much time away from home at a young age as the 19-year-old will be in India for a five-match Test series early next year anyways.
Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam Not Available For IPL 2024
The news among players from Bangladesh is that the neither Taskin Ahmed nor Shoriful Islam will be available for IPL 2024 and have thus withdrawn from the auction. This is because the two are likely to feature in Bangladesh's home series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in March and April. However, Mustafizur Rahman has been permitted by the Bangladesh Cricket Boad (BCB) to play IPL 2024 between March 22 and May 11.
