Indian Premier League 2024: The opening day of the Indian Premier League 2024 has been off to a flyer as spectacular hitting from Faf Du Plessis, alongside impeccable bowling from Mustafizur Rahman, has left the spectators in awe with the gruesome efforts been shown by both the sides. Royal Challengers Bangalore's talisman and legendary batsman Virat Kohli was steadily dictating the scorecard alongside Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, but was dismissed in the 12th over via a brilliant relay catch effort in the deep mid wicket region by Ajinkya Rahane, who took the catch and threw to Rachin Ravindra, who completed the follow up with ease.

Virat Kohli couldn't start his IPL 2024 on a spectacular note as the right-handed batsman managed merely 21 off 20 balls. The player regained form in last year's IPL and carried that form into his best ever World Cup campaign statistically, as ICC ODI World Cup 2023 saw him score couple of tons, and was the highest run scorer in the tournament.

RCB were in a huge trouble as dismissal of Virat Kohli and Cameron Green in the same over resulted the side 78/5 inside 12 overs, but superb hitting from veteran Dinesh Kartik and Anuj Rawat saw the side cross the 170-run mark, as the duo scored a sixth wicket partnership of 95 runs off 50 balls, which was dismissed with the very last ball of the innings, via a run out.

RCB have ended their innings at 173/6 in their 20 overs and Chennai Super Kings are set a target of 174 to start their campagn on a winning note, and that too, at their fortress, MA Chidambaram Stadium.
